Understanding MS Excel VLOOKUP() syntax

This formula returns values it in a table and returing the corresponding value from a given column. It starts with looking for the given value in the first column of the table and then goes to the column number provided as the third argument of the formula. The formula can return an exact or approximate match according to the last argument.
